I’ve been flying a Phantom 3 Standard since 2017, though I never used it as much as I should have. Lately, I’ve gotten back into flying and want to upgrade to something more modern. I’d also like to pass my Phantom to family members since it’s well over the 250g limit and comes with restrictions.
I was ready to pull the trigger on a Mini 4 Pro, but based on DJI’s past release patterns, we might be getting close to a new generation.
I don’t urgently need an upgrade, so do you think it’s worth holding off for a few months? My deadline is June, as I have some filming planned. Until then, I can wait.
The Mini 4 Pro is already top-tier. I’d definitely recommend the Fly More bundle—I got mine second-hand with just one battery, and that’s been my biggest regret. As for the Mini 5, I haven’t heard anything about an upcoming release. Even if it does come out, I doubt it’ll be a huge upgrade over the 4 Pro. The current model already has the best obstacle avoidance in the Mini series, and the camera is fantastic. Honestly, I’d say just go for it. The ability to explore anywhere and play with time-lapse features is a blast.
