Chipped a propeller on my Air 3… should I replace it now?

I was landing my Air 3 and didn’t see a stool leg (totally my fault). It was also pretty windy. After checking it over, everything works fine, no weird noises or issues flying, just one propeller has a little chip in it.

This is my first drone and first crash. I’ve never done any repairs before, but I actually like figuring this stuff out, so I’m open to learning. Just wondering, should I go ahead and replace the chipped prop now, or is it okay to keep flying a bit longer?

Appreciate the help (and kindness, lol).

That’s not something you repair — just replace the prop.

Don’t risk it. Propellers are cheap and usually come with spares anyway. Just look up a video on YouTube like ‘how to change Air 3 propeller’ — it’s super straightforward.

Make sure to buy the exact match for your drone. DJI’s official props are safest. And yeah, they go on in a specific way — there’s an ‘A’ and a ‘B’ type, and they’re color-coded. Replacing one wrong can mess things up.

For something that costs maybe $10, it’s not worth gambling with a $1000+ drone. Even if it seems fine now, a cracked prop could fail mid-flight. Then it’s game over.

Also, I say this as someone who really watches what I spend — but peace of mind is worth it.

Swap it out with the correct type.

The Air 3 uses ‘A’ and ‘B’ props — one has a black circle in the middle, the other a white one.

If yours has the black dot, replace it with the same. Don’t mix them up.

Appreciate that, thanks!

Definitely replace it. Flying with a chipped blade can cause real problems. Just look up what can happen — it’s not worth the risk.

Yeah, I flew with a chipped prop for a while and it got worse fast. Started getting cracks and my battery didn’t last as long. Just swap it — you’ll avoid a headache later.

Super simple and cheap to do. You’ve got this.
