Did Culver City Man Deserve His Sentence for Recklessly Crashing Drone into Super Scooper Firefighting Aircraft During Palisades Fire?

What are your thoughts on the sentence given to the Culver City man who crashed his drone into a firefighting aircraft during the Palisades Fire? Share your opinions and let’s discuss!

A misdemeanor offense that carries a prison sentence of up to one year in federal prison and as a result of the collision, the Government of Quebec and an aircraft repair company incurred costs of at least $65,169 to repair the plane.

@Penn
I’d say he got a light sentence. Homie could have been facing manslaughter/murder charges if he’d hit the plane in a more vulnerable spot.

@Penn
Fuck around and find out. It’s super important to check for TFRs and also safe to assume there is one if there’s an active firefighting effort.

@Penn
Totally worth the clicks! SMH

As you get older, you’re going to realize that a PhD does not equal common sense.

@Eliot
Facts. I work in IT, with a bunch of PhDs. We had to explain to one what a “web browser” was.

@Eliot
Intelligence and Wisdom are a Venn Diagram with very small overlap.

When I worked in/around Brown U in Rhode Island… I learned there were many cases where people with PhDs did not necessarily do well in their courses. Some was just by luck. Had a doctor who had a leg fidget so bad that he would unplug the power cable under his desk. After 3 visits to his office, we tried pointing that out and he went apeshit.

@Peyton
No way…
