Did I mess up with Black Bird 4K?

I bought a Black Bird 4K drone without doing proper research. It’s marked as shipped, but now I’m second-guessing the decision. I’ve read conflicting information online—some say it’s a scam, but I can’t find solid proof. There are so many websites selling what looks like the same drone, and with modern electronics, I guess that’s possible.

I don’t need much. I just want a drone to get above the trees on my property to locate farm equipment and maybe take a few cloud shots.

Does anyone here have actual experience with this drone? I’d really appreciate hearing from someone who has used it, not just speculation or hearsay.

I bought one impulsively too, and it’s a scam. It’s just a toy, nothing like what’s advertised. I asked for a refund, and they offered me half my money back if I kept the drone. I refused and pushed for a full refund. They kept making excuses and delaying the process. Eventually, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputed the charge with my credit card company. Only then did they refund me through PayPal. They were clearly hoping I’d give up.

@Jasper
That type of scam is so frustrating! Getting a refund takes way too much effort.

@Jasper
Who’s ‘they’? The seller or some third party?

I was looking into buying one when I found this thread. The one I saw was called the Black Falcon 4K, but it seems to be the same thing. Thanks for the heads-up!

Yeah, it’s all pretty confusing. At this point, I’ve decided you get what you pay for. If you want a reliable drone, you should go for a well-known brand, even if it costs more.

This drone is clearly a rip-off. I wouldn’t pay $50 for it, let alone $100. I’ve seen others mention being offered partial refunds to keep the drone. Has anyone successfully done that?

Also, is anyone able to actually control this thing? Mine only goes up and down but won’t move forward or backward.

@Jin
I had a similar experience. It’s hard to control and doesn’t stay steady. The camera quality is terrible, nowhere near what’s advertised. Honestly, it’s a waste of money.

This seems like a scam. I’ve been waiting months for my drone, and the company keeps giving me the runaround. They don’t respond to emails, and I doubt the drone even exists.

I bought one and threatened to dispute the charge with my credit card company. They refunded my money and told me to keep the drone, which says a lot about its quality. It’s junk.

It’s amazing how many of these drones are scams. They even get fake reviews claiming they’re good.

I canceled mine immediately after realizing it was a mistake. Impulse buys on a graveyard shift are a bad idea. Don’t fall for it.

I paid with a credit card and never received the Stealth 4K drone I ordered. It’s been four months, and they don’t respond to any messages. Total scam.

I hope I actually get mine. They sent a receipt, but the retailer is listed as Innovative Tech, which seems shady.

The Black Bird 4K isn’t worth it. It’s on par with a $30 drone from Temu. If you want a better experience, go for a DJI Mini 4 Pro. It’s pricier, but it’s easy to use, has over 30 minutes of flight time, and can fly above trees without issue. It also has obstacle avoidance to prevent crashes.

@Florian
That’s the thing—people like me go for cheaper options to test the waters before spending 10x more on a better product. I’d love a DJI Mini 4 Pro, but I don’t want to spend that kind of money right now.

@Quillan
I get it. I saved up for my DJI over time. If that’s out of reach for now, you could look into BWINE drones. They have decent models for $300–$500 that perform much better than the Black Bird. In the meantime, use your current drone for practice.

@Florian
Funny story—the drone launched itself uncontrollably into the sky and disappeared. Luckily, I caught it on video and used that to get a refund.

Did you buy it through Amazon or directly from the manufacturer? If it’s from Amazon, you can return it easily. If it’s directly from the manufacturer, getting a refund might be harder.

I bought it directly from a website, but I’m not even sure which one is the official seller. There are multiple sites claiming to sell the Black Bird 4K, and they all look suspiciously similar.
