I ordered a DJI Air 3s from the DJI store last Friday, and yesterday it reached Chicago (my final destination) via DHL but failed customs clearance. DJI said it was a paperwork issue. DHL is returning the drone to DJI, and they informed me that I would receive a refund. I ended up purchasing it from B&H Photo, and it should arrive tomorrow.
I saw previous posts mentioning that DJI has been successfully clearing customs; I’m not sure why mine couldn’t.
I tried to order a new Avata in early January, but they never sent it. When I called, they mentioned they weren’t attempting to ship to the East Coast because it wouldn’t make it. They advised me to order from an authorized retailer instead. I did that and received it in just 3 days, so you made the right choice ordering from B&H.
My order spent 3 weeks being ‘scanned’ in Kentucky, and I finally requested a refund. I bought from Adorama, and it arrived in about 3 days. The refund from DJI took less than a week, and their customer service was very helpful.
If you ordered from B&H, you might experience the same issue since they typically have no stock on the 3S. They usually just place orders with DJI, which is why it’s listed as a special order with a lead time of 7-14 days on their site. The only store I’ve seen with the 3S in stock and ready to ship is Adorama. Good luck with your B&H order; hopefully, it arrives safely!
It’s really hit or miss with these orders! I ordered a Flip that got stuck in customs in Miami but somehow managed to get through. They didn’t ban DJI products entirely, but importing them has become quite difficult.
This news is really unfortunate to hear. I’m planning to order an A3S reverb as soon as they’re back in stock on DJI.com. I live in Atlanta and am worried I’ll never get mine either. SMDH
Camrise is in the US and have a warehouse in NJ that they ship from. I ordered an Air 3S from them on Saturday and should receive in later this week. They also have a NY Fifth Ave. store that also have inventory for in store PU
