I’m trying to decide between the DJI Avata and the GEPRC Cinebot30. I’m looking for something durable and good for both cinematic shots and FPV. Would love to hear experiences from anyone who’s flown both!
Avata’s the way to go if you’re doing slower flights and need a longer battery life. Cinebot’s got more power and is easier to repair if you’re flying fast and taking risks.
This question’s perfect for me—I’ve got both in my drone bag!
The Cinebot30 is a blast to fly. I’ve crashed it a bunch of times on grass, and it still works like a charm. Flying-wise, it’s totally different from the Avata.
The Avata has better battery life, emergency brake, superior camera, and longer flight distance. Great for cinematic and FPV video. But if you’re looking for a full FPV experience, the Cinebot30 is way better.
The Cinebot30 comes with the DJI Air 3 unit, so you can use the same goggles and remote as the Avata. No batteries included, but they’re way cheaper than Avata batteries—5 Cinebot batteries cost as much as 1 Avata battery, though they only last 3-5 minutes.
The Cinebot’s frame is carbon fiber, super simple, and easy to repair. I had one rough landing with my Avata and ended up paying $250 to replace a sensor. And even then, I had to send it back to DJI for calibration.
If you’re new to FPV, I’d recommend getting the DJI goggles and remote (not the motion controller) with the Cinebot, then spend time on an FPV simulator. It’s tough at first, but after a while, it starts to make sense, and you’ll be ready to fly FPV.
Go for the Cinebot30 and skip the hassle of the DJI setup, like connecting to the phone for the goggles.
By the way, is the Cinebot30 under 250g? Either way, I still think the Cinebot30 is the better choice, just curious about the weight.
If you’re interested in an Avata, I’ve got one with extra batteries and all the gear. Barely used and in mint condition, and it’s still eligible for DJI Care Refresh extension if you’re interested.

Are you in SoCal? I’ve been looking for one!
The Cinebot honestly looks like something put together by a bunch of college kids.
