DJI Flip announced… 4K60 HDR, 4K100fps, Active Track, and more starting at $439

What are your thoughts on the DJI Flip? Worth it or not?

Is this just a cheaper Mini 4 Pro with an annoying high-pitched noise? Did DJI just kill off the Mini 3 Pro?

They might’ve killed the Mini 4 Pro too. This is half the price, has a similar camera, and is much safer to fly.

@Ashwin
But it struggles even in a light breeze. Feels like a jack of all trades, master of none?

Yeah, compared to the M4P, it drifts in light winds and has some micro-jitters. Definitely a downside.

Why does it struggle if it’s only 10g lighter than the Minis?

@Ashwin
Not even close. The Mini 4 Pro is quieter, has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, and is smaller. Plus, it supports ND filters.

Does the Mini 4 Pro’s obstacle avoidance work at night? No. Only the Flip and Air 3S have forward-facing obstacle detection at night right now.

@Pax
To be fair, forward obstacle avoidance isn’t the most crucial feature.

I don’t really get the point of this drone.

Does it have FPV compatibility? I didn’t see anything about it on the website.

No FPV support for now, according to videos. I wish they’d sell it without the controller. I don’t need another one.

@Charlie
Agreed. I have the Mini 4 Pro and don’t want another controller either. A Fly More kit without the controller would be perfect. It’s the only thing stopping me from buying it.

Same here. I’m planning to ask their support team if they’ll release a standalone version. The lack of goggles support is a letdown too. I like using goggles with my M4P sometimes.

Who was asking for this? I usually get excited about new drones, but this one doesn’t do it for me.

Does it support vertical shooting?

Not like the Mini 4 Pro. The camera doesn’t physically turn—it’s more like what you’d do with the Air 3, cropping vertically in the app or controller.

The website says it has a 4:3 CMOS sensor optimized for vertical crops with 2.7K resolution, but it’s not true vertical shooting.

So basically, they’re just dressing up the lack of real vertical shooting in fancy words.

So, it doesn’t actually flip? Why call it the Flip then?
