Just bought a used DJI FPV. When I tried to connect my phone to the goggles with the cord it came with, nothing would sync. I could still fly using just the goggles and controller, but the DJI Fly app wouldn’t work. I tried another cord and it finally synced and did some kind of update. But now, unless my phone is plugged into the goggles, the drone won’t fly—I keep getting a Remote ID error. I’ve tried everything: calibrating the controller over and over, holding the power button on the drone and controller to resync—it all still needs the phone connected to work. It’s already a hassle flying with a battery pack, now I gotta keep my phone plugged in too? How are people dealing with this?
That’s how DJI added Remote ID to this setup when using Goggles V2 or Goggles 2. The newer Integra goggles have a built-in GPS chip, so they don’t need to be plugged into a phone.

Yeah that sucks. It didn’t do this until I ran that update earlier today.
@ChristopherSmith
Yep, that update added the Remote ID requirement.
I think I figured it out. Looks like with the latest update, you have to plug your phone into the goggles to even take off. Super annoying.
You can plug your phone in, power up the motors, and once they’re spinning, unplug the phone and fly normally. Just be aware that this means you’re flying without broadcasting Remote ID, which isn’t legal in the US.
