DJI Osmo Mobile 7 just dropped… thoughts?

DJI just announced the Osmo Mobile 7 series. The 7P has a bigger battery compared to the 6 (7.74 Wh to 12.06 Wh) but only weighs 63g more. Even the regular 7 has the bigger battery without adding weight. Pretty nice. I need to read more about this “Multifunctional module” though.

Wait… the “Multifunctional module” only works with the Mic Mini and not the Mic 2? Why would they do that?

If you’re on iOS, I don’t see why you’d pick this over the Flow 2 Pro. DockKit seems like a better option than having to deal with an extra module.

Someone needs to do a full comparison between Flow 2 and Osmo Mobile 7. Would be interesting to see.

I’m sure a bunch of YouTube videos will cover it soon! I’m curious too, even though I already went for the Flow 2 Pro lol.

Will this work with Android?

Yeah, it does. Just saw a video from Flytpath going over everything: https://youtu.be/eNlZujWSchg?si=EtUFq_UIyWwFFmYu

Feels like they left out DockKit support so the 7P wouldn’t eat into sales of the 7. The Multifunctional module also adds weight, and at 300g max load, this isn’t great for anyone who’s serious about mobile video.

If you’re shooting outdoors, you’ll probably want to add an ND filter, a case, and maybe an SSD. With only 300g capacity, this setup is going to be a struggle. I’ve been waiting for this release for months, and honestly, I feel let down. DJI could’ve done better here.
