Hi all… I’m planning to buy a DJI Neo that comes with a remote control. My phone is super old and I don’t want to replace it just yet. If I get the Neo with the remote, do I still need to use a phone? Or is there any software that only works through a phone and not a laptop? Would love any advice on this!
You’ll need to install the app somewhere.

Thanks.
You can use the RC 2 — that’s the one with the built-in screen. It works great and will also fly the Mini 4 Pro if you ever get one.

Thank you.
You don’t have to use a phone. You can fly just with the drone, with a phone, or using the controller that shows you battery, speed, and camera feed. I still recommend using one, but it’s not required. What kind of phone do you have?

Thanks. I have a 7-year-old Android. I bought the RC2 controller with the screen, so I think I’m good. Really appreciate you.

Nice! Good call. Enjoy the Neo — I’ve been loving mine!

Thanks. I actually found a DJI Neo 3 battery bundle at a local camera store. I had an old $25 gift card from like 6 years ago and they still accepted it. I grabbed the RC2 off Amazon.
