Hey, I recently bought a DJI Mini 3 drone and I’m only 16. Do I need to show proof of age when getting an operator ID? Thanks!

If you’re under 18, your parents have to be the ones to register the drone under their name, so they’re the ones who get the operator ID.

But isn’t the person flying the drone the one who needs the ID?
@Drue
The person flying only needs a license if the drone is over 250 grams.
Yeah, your parents would be the ones to register as the operator, while you register as the flyer.
You didn’t mention what country you’re in, but if it’s not the US, the rules might be different. In the US, we don’t have anything exactly called an ‘operator ID.’ But here, you don’t have to show ID to get stuff like TRUST certification and registration. You only do for the Part 107 license.
Which country are you in?
