Curious if anyone here insures their drones. How do you cover it, and do you think it’s worth it?
I don’t have insurance for the drones themselves, but I’m covered for third-party damage.
Hull insurance is usually best for high-end drones that are valued like an automobile.
Technically, I’m supposed to, but I don’t bother since I don’t fly much. When I do, it’s in remote areas far from people.
If you’re flying near others, doing commercial work, or fly often, it’s a good idea to get insurance.
I have coverage through my home and auto insurance. It covers the drone itself.

Yep, I do. It’s essential after my last incident… https://youtu.be/xjPjKvU5bEI
Did you hit something on the boat?
I use State Farm. Costs about $60 a year.
I use CoverDrone in the UK for recreational flying. Costs around £6 a month with a £50 excess on claims for my Mini 2. It covers third-party damage and replacing the drone. It’s a monthly rolling policy, so I can cancel anytime.
Thankfully, I haven’t had to make a claim yet.
@Noor
Sounds like just what I need. Thanks!
