Do you need to mention your Part 107 license in YouTube descriptions?

I’ve noticed that many YouTubers who post drone videos on monetized channels don’t mention having a Part 107 license.

For example: https://youtube.com/shorts/QEkEPToHNTc?si=XBEJDt8aLlQq3TY4

I’m planning to get my Part 107 this year, so I’d like to know if it’s necessary to include that info in my future uploads.

I mention that I’m a certified Part 107 pilot on my social media, but not on YouTube.

Got it, thanks!

There’s no rule that says you have to post credentials on YouTube. You could start a channel about brain surgery without a medical license if you wanted.

No, pilots aren’t required to post their credentials on YouTube.

Nope. The only people who can ask for your license are the FAA and law enforcement. Everyone else doesn’t matter.

Yes, and you should also wear a name tag at Costco that says ‘Part 107 Pilot’.

LMAO, good one.

No, you don’t have to.

No.

No, and I’ve never done that.

Nope.

You don’t need to post it online. Just have your license ready if a federal agent asks for it.

Do YouTubers who drive need to prove they have a driver’s license? Do fishermen post their fishing license? Your audience doesn’t need your credentials.

I get that, but the FAA is strict, so I wanted to be sure.

@River
The DMV is strict too, but you don’t see people posting their driver’s license on YouTube.

That’s actually a question on the Part 107 test—who do you need to show your license to? YouTube isn’t one of the options.

Why would you need to?
