Do you swap out props after a set amount of flight time or just wait for issues?

I don’t, but I’ve been wondering the same thing. Seems like it’d make sense to swap them like you do oil or belts on a car.

Exactly. Stuff wears out. I push my Air 3 in strong winds, and I swear the props sound different now compared to when they were new. About 5 hours of flight time on them.

I mean when I make quick movements—like sudden climbs, drops, or sharp turns—where the props have to work harder. The sound is different, kind of fluttery. I feel like they’re getting softer or just not cutting the air as well anymore.

Feels like they could eventually fail from being overworked.

@Teo
Way too many things affect flight—wind, humidity, air pressure, even geomagnetic interference. No two flights will ever sound exactly the same.

Props don’t really ‘wear out’ unless they’re cracked or warped. If something’s gonna fail, it’s probably the motors, not the props.

Crashed my DJI Mini 3 into a tree, kept flying for hours even in strong winds. Didn’t notice any difference… but maybe I just got lucky.
