Hey everyone, wondering if DJI Care would cover a situation where a bird attacks or strands your drone, making it unrecoverable. Anyone have experience with this?
Yes, it’s considered a flyaway case. If you have a screen recording, it helps smooth out the process.
I crashed mine into some trees over a river… Flyaway cover really saved me!
Birdizen’s arrest? Haha!
Would something like this technically be a ‘flyaway’?
Yeah, it should be.
Not sure, but it’s a lot easier if you can actually get the drone back. Has anyone here done a flyaway replacement? Mine got stuck in a tree, and DJI told me to wait until I could retrieve it. They said the replacement would cost way more if I couldn’t recover it.
@Shaye
Yep, that’s the deal—flyaway replacements are more expensive if the drone is completely gone.

Haha, you asked, then answered yourself right there!
If you can get the drone back, it speeds things up a lot. They mainly want to disable drones that can’t be recovered, even if they’re at the bottom of the ocean!
