Does the FAA really know when I'm flying my drone...?

Hey everyone, so I’ve been curious about whether the FAA knows when I’m flying my drone. I read some stuff about Remote ID and how it can help with tracking, but honestly, I’m a bit confused about how it all works. Like, in most cases, does the FAA really have any clue if I’m just buzzing around my local park with my DJI Mini 4? Would love to hear your thoughts… :small_airplane:

I think you’re right! Unless you’ve got Remote ID on, they probably have no idea. I just fly around and hope for the best, lol.

Haha, right? Sometimes I wonder if they’re watching us all the time or just focusing on the bigger stuff.

Yeah, I heard that without Remote ID, they really can’t keep track of casual flights. It’s tough to monitor when there are so many drones out there.

So true! I guess that makes sense. But I wonder how they keep an eye on the bigger drone issues like those military drones.

Exactly! I think it’s more focused on critical places than on everyday flying.

Just a heads up, even if the FAA isn’t aware, we still have to be compliant with the rules. Don’t wanna end up in hot water, you know?

Ugh, I know! It’s like trying to stay cool while following all these rules. What happens if you don’t comply, though?

Fines and possibly criminal charges. Best to keep it legal, folks! :grimacing:

Remote ID is like a digital license plate for your drone, right? I still don’t fully get how it works though. Can anyone explain it?

Yep, exactly! It broadcasts your drone’s info so nearby folks can see it. Helps keep things safer up there.

Oh, that makes sense! So basically, if you don’t have it, it’s like flying under the radar… kinda scary, right?

Honestly, I’m not worried too much about tracking. I’m flying my Mini 3 Pro, and it’s under 250 grams. No Remote ID needed for me!

Lucky you! I might just get a smaller drone, too. It sounds way simpler!

For sure! Those under 250 grams have fewer rules. Just fly safe and enjoy yourself!
