Drone Hacks or Drone Tweaks - Which is better for FCC?

There are two main options to unlock the FCC standard for drones, and both are priced the same.

Drone Tweaks offers an updated version of the DJI Fly app, which gets regular updates.

Drone Hacks provides a file you transfer to the drone via USB C.

From the websites, it’s hard to tell which one is better. Either one could stop working with future updates.

Has anyone used either of these? What’s your experience?

I’ve had the Drone Tweaks app since about a month after the Mini 3 Pro came out. I’m on Android, and the app gets updated about once a month. No problems so far, and I got a noticeable improvement in signal strength.

The app works just like the official one, including gallery, quick transfer, and firmware updates.

I might try this. I’ve got 4 drones for my team, and we fly about 30 ft high for 10-15 minutes, but we’re often near airports or bases and can’t even take off. Makes checking roofs impossible. I was using Autel drones, but their support is terrible.

Drone Tweaks still has geofencing, so you can’t fly within 2 miles of an active runway. It mainly boosts the remote’s transmitter/receiver from 5mW (EU) to 25mW (FCC).

That won’t work for me then. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check out Drone Hacks. I’m looking for something in the U.S.

Same here. Did you need to downgrade your firmware for that?

I haven’t found anything that works in the U.S. yet. If you find something, let me know!

What drone do you have?

I posted this same question in a German forum, but it got deleted after 5 minutes. :weary:

I wonder why.

Have you decided on one yet? If so, could you let me know which one and if it works with the latest firmware? Thanks!

I’ve used Drone-Hacks for about 2 years on my DJI FPV. Along with removing NFZ restrictions, it also boosts ascent and descent speeds, increases altitude to around 8000ft with the motion controller, and turns off all LEDs except the battery lights. A month ago, I paid extra for the PRO license, which gives root access to the drone.

If you want something easy to use, stick with Drone Tweaks. But if you’re tech-savvy and want to push your drone’s limits, go with Drone-Hacks.

I’m having trouble downloading it because it’s detected as a virus. How did you get past that?

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware to get all the features from Drone-Hacks?

I used NoLimitDronez on my Mavic Pro, and it works great. All restrictions removed, and I got it to hit over 55mph (up from 40mph).

What made you choose NoLimitDronez over Drone-Hacks? I’m comparing the two.
