Great suggestions, thanks! Appreciate the help, everyone.

Just to clarify, AMA covers you outside of their fields if you’re flying legally and safely.

$85 a year sounds almost too good for all that coverage.

@Clarke
It’s better than nothing, but I can’t speak to how reliable it is.

Fair enough. Thanks for all the info!

I’m also hoping to get approval for Arkansas state parks. What insurance did you end up going with?

AMA offers $2.5 million in coverage, just make sure you’re flying by the rules.

I thought that only applied to AMA fields.

Nope, you’re covered anywhere in the US as long as you’re flying legally and safely.

@Lyle
Are you talking about their recreational insurance, or does this apply to commercial flights too?

Recreational use is covered across the US if you’re following the rules. For commercial use, you’d need a separate policy. That’s my understanding, but it’s best to check with them directly.

Here’s the link for more details: AMA liability info.

Looks like they might’ve updated their policies. I remember being told they only covered AMA fields, and not commercial use. Maybe they’re trying to attract more members.

Yeah, probably. Plus, with companies like Amazon pushing drone delivery, there’s bound to be more tracking and safety requirements in the future.
