Ah, so you’re saying he’s just going to laugh off the small fine, right?

I’m just picturing him doing 150 hours of community service with some not-so-friendly individuals
@Taron
I’m laughing thinking about him actually being held accountable and doing all 150 hours.

Lol, I know some people who managed to get out of community service. He’s not going to do anything.
65k is like pocket change for the co-founder of the Call of Duty developers.
This just shows that money can’t buy smarts. The guy’s attached to one of the most successful game franchises and still thought flying a drone in an active wildfire was okay.

It seems like rules are for the poor. Rich people just pay the ‘privilege tax’ and keep doing what they want.
It’s funny how his lawyers keep bringing up geo zones, which never worked with TFRs, and now they don’t stop you either.

It’s never been the software’s responsibility. It’s the pilot’s job to check TFRs and verify other flight restrictions. That’s part of the TRUST certification process.
@Tatum
Exactly, and that’s why DJI stopped using geofencing. They don’t want to be held responsible. If you’re flying, you’re responsible for your actions.
So, this makes that 65k fine look a little less significant, huh?
Rich folks never serve their time. They’ll just pay it off.
Figures, he got off easy. They should have at least locked him up for six months, fined him $500,000, and banned him from owning or flying a drone. That would have sent a message. Luckily, the plane didn’t crash from the damage his actions caused.
@Kai
That guy might be loaded, but if I had to pay $65k, it would change my life.

Yeah, but for him, it’s nothing.
At least he’s getting a lot of public humiliation. He won’t be able to go anywhere without getting dirty looks.

Except in places where money is the main thing.

This isn’t really a big deal to most people. I bet no one I know would recognize his name or know what he did.
Does this mean he’s got three kills?
