Hey, I just got a Mini 4 Pro. What are some good editing apps you’ve used either on your computer or phone? I’m not trying to get all professional with it—just want to make fun videos for myself and maybe share a few on social media. Also not really sure where to go for music. Appreciate any tips!
I’ve been using CapCut. Haven’t tried others but it’s pretty popular and gets the job done.
It kind of depends on what operating system you’re on. For mobile, the DJI Fly app has basic editing tools, and it’s pretty handy. If you’re on Android, you’ll need to download it directly from DJI’s site. Also look into the ‘QuickTransfer’ feature on your drone—it makes moving footage over to your phone way easier.
If you’re on Windows, Clipchamp comes with Windows 11 and is easy to use. On Mac, iMovie is a solid choice.
If you want to step up your editing game, try DaVinci Resolve. There’s a free version packed with pro-level features, but there’s a bit of a learning curve.
For music, you could go with something like Epidemic Sound or Artlist if you want licensed tracks. If you’re just doing it for fun and not making money, you can usually get away with copyrighted songs—especially on platforms like Instagram. What I do is pick a song while pretending to make a reel, download it on PC, edit my video to it, then mute the video when I post and use Instagram’s ‘Add Audio’ tool. YouTube is stricter though, so stick to royalty-free music there. Just search ‘Royalty Free Music’ on YouTube and you’ll find tons of options.

Thanks so much, this helps a lot!
Glad it helped! Like someone else mentioned, CapCut is another solid option. I’m not sure how much is free vs paid though.
DaVinci Resolve, hands down. I have CapCut too, but that’s more for quick clips or short shares. Same with the DJI Fly app—it’s good for fast edits. But DaVinci Resolve is next-level and still free. I might end up buying the full version eventually. I’ve been using it for a couple months now and probably put in about 24 hours. I used to edit videos when I was younger, then stopped for over 10 years, but that background helped me get back into the swing of things with this app.
