Trying to follow all of the advice I’ve been picking up on while lurking this page before I do flight one:
Going someplace absurdly flat (grass not hard ground) that I am familiar with for flights 1-5
Starting Slow. Period.
Practicing multiple times before I go into a faster mode.
Already FAA Registered and Permitted - AirTagged my case for when I travel with it
My urban patio is in an FAA permitted zone but I am not doing a first flight launching from the fifth floor roof of a downtown apartment
Not going when there’s snow on the ground or heavy wind
Not running the OD Green decals I stupidly bought because it’ll just make my drone harder to find
Running Gimbal Guards even though the community seems to be divided on whether or not aftermarket parts add unnecessary weight
I got the 2yr support because FPV crashing is “when not if”
Going to absorb every piece of advice I can soak up from all of you. My cat just crossed the rainbow bridge last week and I need a hobby to keep myself busy.
I never thought about the green decals making your drone harder to find. I have my air 3S completely wrapped in this venom skin. I think it actually helps the drone to be seen in the air, and seems to keep birds away as well (had the same on my mavic air 2). I never came remotely close to crashing before but if I did, I wonder if the skin would aid or not, depending on where it falls ofcl course. Theres so many ponds and lakes around me in FL that I may well just fall into the water.
