I didn’t notice it was raining until after the flight. Luckily, everything seems fine so far. Just wondering if others have flown in the rain and had any issues?
I fly in rain and snow pretty often and haven’t had any problems in over 5 years. It might be risky, but so far, it’s been fine for me.

Interesting. I’ve always avoided flying in rain or even fog because of the moisture. My main worry is that my drone’s motors are exposed, and you can see the wiring. Do you think that’s a problem?
@Bao
I flew my Mavic 3 Pro in fog once, and it came back covered in little water droplets, lol. It dried off fine though. It’s been raining here almost every day, but somehow, areas just a bit inland are getting snow. Coastal Washington weather can be so frustrating!
@Charlie
Totally get it! The propellers do a good job of keeping most of the drone dry. I’ve flown my Mavic 3 Pro, Avata 2, and FPV drones in wet conditions, and they always dry off and keep working.

I’ve stopped flying in rain because it ruins the shots—water droplets on the lens make the photos unusable!
@Charlie
Fly faster, and the droplets won’t stick!
@Charlie
As someone from Portland, I feel you on the annoying weather!
@Bao
I avoid flying in fog because the sensors think it’s close to the ground and try to land automatically, lol. As for the motors, they’re usually fine in wet conditions, but over time, corrosion could be an issue.

My Air 2S once fell into a lake. I fished it out, let it dry, and it worked perfectly after that!
If you checked and everything inside is dry, you should be good. Just keep an eye on it.

Yeah, I opened it up and it was completely dry inside. Thanks for the advice!
It’s probably fine, but dry it out as soon as possible. Were you trying to capture something specific, like a rainbow?

Not really. It started raining in the area I was flying, but back at my home point, it wasn’t raining at all. I was just exploring and capturing some new places I hadn’t been to before.
I’ve flown in the rain on purpose to get rainbow shots. Just clean and dry your drone afterward, and it should be fine.
I’ve flown in the rain too. Just make sure to dry everything off, including the battery, when you’re done.
I’ve flown in rain and snow many times with different drones. Snow footage always looks amazing!
I’m worried about flying in high humidity this summer. Do you think the Mini 4 Pro will handle dew points over 70?
If I’m flying in wet conditions, I sometimes put painter’s tape over the battery seams. It peels off easily afterward and gives a little extra protection from moisture.
