I just got my hands on a Mini 3 Pro and I’m loving it so far. I’ve been thinking about getting the Goggles 2 and RC Motion 2 to enhance my flying experience, but I’m wondering if it’s really worth the money. A friend of mine told me that unless you have an actual FPV drone, the goggles don’t add that much. What do you all think?
As a traditional FPV pilot, I’d say if you want the FPV experience with training wheels, then definitely check out the DJI Neo, Avata, or even the FPV. They’ll give you the real FPV feel. The camera ‘feature’ FPV mode on drones like the Mini 3 Pro is fun, but it’s not the same thing.

I have a similar question… I’m not into high-speed FPV flying, I just want to cruise around in a VR-like experience. I was planning to use a Mini 4 Pro instead of the Avata because of the longer flight time. Is that a bad idea?
@Blair
If you’re just after the VR experience, it’s up to you. The camera ‘feature’ FPV mode on drones like the Mini 3 Pro is an option, but it’s not as immersive as real FPV. The DJI FPV models give a much smoother experience, especially with the standard remote. The motion controls are fun but feel a bit gimmicky, like Wii controllers.
@West
Agreed, I tried the FPV mode on my Mini and Mavic, but it just didn’t do it for me.
