I’m dealing with some gimbal issues on my drone. It seems to have a slight restriction when moving, and I’m not sure if I should try to repair it myself, send it to DJI, or look for a third-party repair. Any advice?
If it’s within the replacement period, they’ll replace the entire aircraft immediately. After that, it’s usually a warranty repair.

Exactly. If it’s beyond the 7-day replacement period, you’re looking at warranty repair only.
You haven’t specified what the exact issue is—can you explain more?
I had a similar issue with my gimbal. After turning off the drone, I tilted and adjusted the gimbal manually and found a restriction in one spot. I sprayed compressed air into the pivot points, and the problem went away. Turns out, it was sand or dirt from landing without a pad. Now I only land on clean surfaces like my truck bed. Give it a try!
I had my gimbal and camera assembly replaced by DJI under warranty, but it took five months. Honestly, if I’d known, I would’ve gone to a third-party repair shop for $31 instead.

Damn, five months? What was the hold-up?
@Blane
Not sure—I never got an explanation.
Hi there, this is Jacky from DJI. We’ve responded to your other post about this issue. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
I crashed mine and broke the gimbal. I sent it in for repair and was surprised—they replaced it with a brand-new drone free of charge and even covered the postage.
