Got myself a new drone… anyone else upgrading?

I finally upgraded my Mavic Pro and went with the Mini 3 Fly More Combo. I’ve got the batteries charging now, and I’m all set for some fun tomorrow!

Congrats on the new drone!

Thanks! Can’t wait to test it out.

That’s awesome. Let us know what you think of the upgrade. I’ve got my Mini 4K arriving tomorrow. It’s my first drone, and I’m so excited to try this out. Already worried my phone might overheat, though… I’m considering getting that controller with the built-in screen.

@Uri
I’m also thinking about getting the Mini 4K as my first drone. Not a fan of using my phone for the controller either, but my bigger concern is the lack of obstacle sensors. Got any advice?

Just keep a close eye on your drone at all times. Avoid getting too close to objects, especially if you’re new to flying—it’s easy to misjudge distances and crash. The Mini models are great for beginners but can break easily if you hit something. Take it slow and you’ll be fine!

@Keegan
Good advice, thanks!

Are you talking about the 3 Pro? Its camera is incredible for something so small. I’ve been shooting in D-Cinelike for more control in editing, and I’ve even tried the anamorphic adaptor—it’s insane what this drone can do. I’ve used it for music videos, and it’s been fantastic. Can’t wait to see what you think after flying it!

Do you think it’s okay to buy a drone without obstacle sensors? I’m on a tight budget but considering the 3 Pro or 4 Pro because of the better camera and sensors. Not sure if I should stretch my budget for them. What do you think?

@Rory
Honestly, your eyes are the best obstacle sensors! Everyone crashes at some point, even with sensors. They’re helpful when your drone is far away, but they don’t always detect small things like branches or wires, which are the most common crash points.

@Keegan
If you’re worried about crashing, consider getting DJI Care Refresh for some peace of mind.

Unfortunately, DJI Care isn’t available in my country because Chinese drones are banned here.

Which ND filter set are you using?
