Has anyone taken Alex Harris' Aerial Video A-Z course?

Not asking about DJI gear this time lol, just wondering if anyone here has taken Alex Harris’ online course? I found a deal for $300 that includes everything, even the Part 107 prep. I’m just starting out and yeah, I know I can probably learn all of it free on YouTube if I dig around long enough. But honestly, I like having it all in one spot, and that’s worth it to me.

Would love to hear from people who’ve taken the course. Did it help you improve or go from beginner to being confident and skilled? Also open to other courses that teach everything — flying, editing, business and marketing too.

Thanks in advance!

I did the Pilot Institute course for my Part 107. Yeah, some people brag about finding everything on YouTube for free — good for them — but I liked having everything organized. The course explained stuff in a clear way, and they give you PDFs and quizzes after each section. I did buy a couple of the extra materials they suggested. In the end, it comes down to whether you want to save money by doing the digging yourself or pay to have everything laid out for you.

@Abi
Yeah same here — I prefer when everything’s in one place. I hate bouncing around YouTube and digging through stuff. If I only needed 107 prep, I’d go with Pilot Institute too. But I think the A-Z course includes editing and videography training along with the 107 stuff, which is what I’m looking for. Just wanted to see if folks found it worth it before I spend the money.

Appreciate the reply!

I mostly shoot photos but I’ve done a few video projects. I’d be curious too if his course is good for adding more video work to what I offer.

Yeah his stuff looks really solid if you haven’t seen it yet.

I don’t think he gets deep into photography though — more focused on video since that’s what he does.

@WilliamMia
Makes sense. I’ll take a look — probably came across his work before but didn’t pay much attention since I’ve mostly been doing photo stuff.

I’d just go with Pilot Institute. That course is great and it’s not $300, which sounds kinda high honestly.

Yeah but isn’t that just for the 107 test? Does it cover editing, business tips, and marketing too? This other course is made by someone who does big video jobs for commercials and stuff.

Do you remember what Pilot Institute offered and how much it cost?
