So my mom got me a Black Falcon drone for Christmas, and I think she might’ve fallen into one of those SEO traps. There are a bunch of sites with glowing ‘reviews’ and even a couple of YouTube videos hyping it up.
From what I can tell, it’s kind of overpriced at around $100. I’ve tested it inside, and it works okay. It has two cameras: one in the front and one facing down. The video feed works, and it came with extra batteries, but those are marked with way less capacity than the main one. I haven’t tried it outdoors yet. This is my first FPV drone, so it’s probably fine for a beginner.
Does anyone know if this drone is legit? Also, my mom accidentally ordered two. Should we bother trying to return one, or just give it to a kid in the family?
The Black Falcon is a scam. They’ve been using the same scheme for years, even showing pictures of DJI Mavic Pro drones in their ads. In reality, it’s just a cheap $16 toy. Here’s the link to the actual product: Amazon link.
How do these companies keep getting away with scams like this? Imagine kids excited about their first drone, only for it to fly off and never come back.
You can find better deals for that price, but whether to return it or give it away depends on your mom’s finances. If she could use the cash, try getting a refund—you might be surprised at how easy it is. If she’s fine, just let a grandkid have fun with it for a while.
I bought two of them as well. Took them outside, and both flew up and to the left within five minutes. Never saw them again. They claim the drone has 4K cameras, but it’s more like 0.4K. It’s a scam for sure, especially at $100.

The drone has GPS and auto-return features for when it loses signal or the battery gets low. Sounds like it just didn’t want to stick around with you.

The Black Falcon doesn’t have GPS or auto-return. It’s a scam, and you’re helping to mislead people. I’m reporting this account for spreading false information.
My wife fell for the same trap and bought two. She even got the extended warranty. Bottom line: They’re just $12 drones you can find on Temu. I fought with customer service and ended up losing $60. In the end, I just flew them into a wall. They broke pretty easily. Don’t buy these things!
