People don’t post their uneventful flights, just the crashes. It’s observation bias.

I’ve had plenty of drones with no issues. But last weekend, a strong gust of wind hit while I was landing my Mini 3 near my camper. The drone tried to adjust but couldn’t in time, and it smashed into the side of the van 
. Just a broken prop, luckily.

Something similar happened to me, but it was GPS-related. The drone got confused and headbutted a wall. Thankfully, no damage.

People aren’t keeping a clear line of sight and end up flying sideways into things.

It’s survivorship bias. Thousands of people fly their drones without issues, but you only hear about the crashes because someone has to share it.

Most crashes happen because:
- People take risks and fail.
- They focus more on filming than the surroundings.
- New flyers get confused or panic.

I live in an area with few trees and a wide open view. Still, I’m cautious. No crashes with my Air2s yet, but I’m careful around power lines and other obstacles.

Crashes range from newbie mistakes to people doing something risky or having a technical problem. Some people just make dumb decisions, too.

Some people see an FPV video, buy a drone, and think they can fly like pros immediately. It doesn’t work that way.
