Might sound like a weird question, but I’m curious how everyone manages this. I have the Fly More kit and really like it, but when traveling (especially with just hand luggage), it feels too heavy!
I skip the charger and hub since I can charge straight from the drone. I just bring a charger that has more ports for my other gear.
I only pack one spare battery, a set of spare props, a micro SD card, ND filters, and the RC N1 remote. I put everything in the smallest, lightest camera bag I could find (it’s an old one I got in Thailand).
I also keep some thin foam between the drone and remote to avoid scratches. For charging, I just use my OnePlus 65W charger—it works for all my USB-C devices.
I’ve got the Mini 4 Pro Fly More combo with the RC2 in a Startrc hard case, plus extra props, ND filters, and a payload attachment. I haul it all in my backpack and take it everywhere, even up mountains. Sure, it’s a bit heavy, but I like being prepared!
Sometimes I’ve chipped props on branches or gone through two batteries for an epic view, and the extra weight is worth it. Plus, the hard case keeps it safe, even if it rains.
I just carry one battery with my Mini 4 Pro, so I toss it in my backpack with the RC N2 or even keep it in my jacket. It does limit my flight time, but I’ve never owned more than one battery anyway.
I got a hard case from AliExpress to protect the drone and separate everything in my backpack. Saves more space than the Fly More bag.

Really? Which model did you get?
I use a small ‘tactical’ sling bag. If I have a bigger backpack, I wear the sling bag on my chest so I can just take that out for shorter hikes.
Don’t bother with the Fly More bag—it’s bulky. But make sure to use the propeller holder and gimbal protector.
Here’s what I do:
- Bring just 1-2 batteries; skip the hub (3 batteries are overkill unless you’re doing UAV mapping).
- Use a GAN charger for everything (drone, laptop, phone).
- Skip the power bank unless you’re really off-grid.
- Wear cargo pants or a jacket with pockets for small items; it feels lighter when spread out over your body.
Lightweight gear makes a huge difference!
