I’m planning to use drones for a new outdoor photography project and noticed that wind conditions can be quite unpredictable. Given that I’m considering different models, I’m curious about how wind resistance varies among them. Could anyone explain how wind resistance affects drone performance and which models handle windy conditions better? Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Wind can totally mess with your drone shots. I’ve had some wild experiences with gusty weather. Some drones handle wind better than others. Generally, models with higher max wind speeds and better build quality stay steadier. I’ve found that drones with 4 or more propellers and those with GPS features tend to do better. A Mavic Air 2 or DJI Mini 3 Pro might be worth checking out—they’ve been solid for me in breezy conditions.
With these drones, there is, without a doubt, a safety cushion built in. Most of the time, the wind resistance specs are more about battery life than safety. If someone is stupid enough to fly when the wind is gusting at 40 mph, I guess they deserve it.
