Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy a used DJI FPV drone and wanted to know how long the batteries usually last. Also, has anyone had experience with 2.5-year-old batteries that have only been charged around 20 times? Appreciate any input!

From my experience, battery life can change a lot depending on weather and how aggressively you fly. I’ve had some batteries drain in just 10 minutes, though the average is about 15 minutes. Never really seen one go beyond 20.
@Merlin
Same here, I usually get between 8 to 12 minutes. All my videos start when I arm the motors, so that affects the battery life too.
Here’s a link to a page that explains DJI FPV battery life.
It says, “DJI FPV drone batteries last about 20 minutes and have a lifespan of roughly 200 cycles.”
@Auden
Thanks for the link! Do you have any personal experience with them?

Not with the FPV system, unfortunately.
DJI FPV has one of the better battery lives compared to other FPV drones, maybe except the Avata.
It really depends on how you fly. I’ve managed almost 15 minutes when flying gently in manual mode. Normally, though, I get about 6 to 8 minutes per battery.
The longest I’ve ever gotten is around 10 minutes, cruising in manual mode. My setup is only a year old, and usually around the 8-minute mark, I get the low battery warning to return home. Here’s a link to one of my longer flights: Video. I put it down around 9 minutes with about 15% battery left.
I’ve had my DJI FPV drone for about 2.5 years and flown it maybe 15-20 times. I always charge my batteries after they cool down and stick to a quarterly charging cycle. When I first got it, I’d get around 15-20 minutes of flight time, but now it’s closer to 10 minutes before the return-to-home kicks in. So I’d say there’s about 60% battery life left after 2.5 years of careful use.
@Perrin
That’s not great for LiPo batteries, right?
I’m selling a DJI FPV with a new drone from DJI Refresh. Only flown it twice since then. It comes with the Fly More kit and a case, but no standard controller (just the motion controller). Asking $1,000 if anyone’s interested.
@Nico
I’m in the EU, so I’ll have to pass . Otherwise, I’d be interested for sure!
I saw a video where someone tested different props on the FPV by just hovering it until the battery hit 10%. Even with the stock props, he was only getting around 9.5 to 10.5 minutes of flight time. But again, that’s just hovering!
