How should I store my DJI Avata 2 batteries when not using them?

Hi, I just bought the DJI Avata 2. How should I store the batteries if I’m not going to use them for a few days or weeks? Should I keep them in the charging hub? Will that stop the self-discharge feature, or should I store them outside the hub?

Why would you want to stop the self-discharge? It’s actually better for the batteries’ health not to keep them fully charged all the time.

I’m not trying to stop it. I’m just asking if keeping them in the charging hub prevents the self-discharge. If it does, I’ll take them out of the hub.

@Pax
I don’t think keeping them in the hub will stop it, as long as they’re not connected to a wall charger. I’ve heard that pressing the status button might stop the discharge, but I’m not 100% sure about that.

@Sage
Got it. I also read a while ago that leaving them in the hub could stop the self-discharge, so I wanted to double-check.

Interesting, I hadn’t heard that. Now I’m curious too.

Yeah, it was back when the Mini 2 came out. I’ve always kept my Mini 2 batteries out of the hub because of that :joy:

Yeah, I remember there was talk about a firmware issue with the Mini 2 batteries.

After doing some research, it looks like it’s fine to store the batteries in the hub as long as it’s not plugged into the wall. The batteries will still self-discharge.

Pressing the status button on other DJI batteries (like the Mavic series) can reset the discharge timer, so just to be safe, I wouldn’t press the button on the charger.

@Sage
Thanks for the info!
