I can't believe it… DJI repair cost way less than I expected!

My Mavic 3 Pro got stuck in a tree and fell about 60 feet, hitting several branches on the way down before landing on the grass. Three of the four arms cracked or broke, the gimbal snapped, and the camera module was left hanging by its coax cable. I sent in a service request online and shipped it out yesterday.

I’ve never dealt with DJI repairs before, but my past experiences with Nikon always cost at least $650 for even the simplest fixes, and the price only went up from there.

Anyway, less than 24 hours after sending it in, I got an email confirming they received it. About an hour later, they sent me the repair estimate. I braced myself, expecting something in the $600-1000 range, or maybe even an unrepairable verdict.

$261.

I haven’t gotten the drone back yet, so I can’t speak to the repair quality, but I’m honestly shocked at how fast they processed it and how affordable the repair turned out to be.

They’ll probably just send you a new drone instead of fixing the old one.

I was wondering about that. Since I don’t have DJI Care Refresh and I’m paying out of pocket, I assumed I’d be getting my original drone back.

Nope, to speed up the process they’ll likely send you a refurbished drone that’s been tested and works like new.

If they do that, will I have to register the ‘new’ drone, or is it already linked to my account?

@Evans
You’ll need to activate it again using your DJI account, and if you need any certifications, you’ll have to redo those since it will come with a new serial number.

Yeah, don’t expect your old drone back. You’re definitely getting a replacement.
