I chipped my propeller, can I still fly or nah?

Right now I’m stuck on a remote island and can’t replace the propeller. It’s a bit damaged, but I still want to fly the drone. Is it okay to use it like normal until I get back and can fix it?

How much do you want to keep your drone in one piece? A new prop costs way less than replacing the whole thing.

The prop’s just a couple of bucks… the drone’s worth like $500.

@Lake
Exactly.

Yeah bro I’m planning to replace it as soon as my trip’s done. I just didn’t pack any extras this time.

@HoverHero
Fair enough — just ask yourself if it’s worth risking the whole drone for one trip. I’d use this as a reminder to always carry spare props next time.

I wouldn’t risk it. Next time, keep some spare parts with you. Props aren’t pricey, but losing the whole drone is.

Nope.

No. Props wear out and need to be replaced. That’s just how it goes.

Don’t fly it with damaged props. Simple as that.

Try checking sunsky.com — they’ve got cheaper third-party props that still work fine.

If the prop’s not balanced right, it’ll cause a lot of shaking. That can mess up your motors or arms, and your drone might not fly properly. I wouldn’t chance it.

If it’s just the rubber tip that came off, you can still fly. I’ve done it plenty of times — those tips mostly just cut down the noise.

If you’re desperate, try some super glue and sand it smooth.

Thanks bro, I think I’ll just glue it for now.

@HoverHero
Honestly, gluing a damaged prop is a dumb way to lose a drone. Just wait and replace it properly.

I get it, you’re on an island and don’t have any spares. I saw your photo and it looks like just the rubber tip is peeling off. Personally, I’d glue it and sand it smooth too — but that’s just me. You know your risk level. I always bring spares when I go out flying. Take care man.
