Considering buying a used Mavic Pro – is it still a solid choice in today’s market, or are there newer models I should be looking at instead? Looking for some advice from experienced drone users!

A used Mavic Pro can be a good buy, but there are some essential things to consider:
- Age and condition: The Mavic Pro is a few years old now, and newer models offer better features and performance. Make sure the used drone you’re considering is in good condition, with no crashes or damage.
- Battery life: Batteries are a consumable item, and their lifespan can be degraded by heavy use or improper storage. You may need to factor in the cost of replacing batteries if the ones included with the drone are old.
- Availability of parts: DJI may no longer produce some replacement parts for the Mavic Pro, so you might have difficulty finding replacements if something breaks.
- Price: A used Mavic Pro should be significantly cheaper than a new one. There are also refurbished options from DJI that come with a warranty, which can be a safer bet than buying from a private seller.
The Mavic Pro is still a great choice for its portability and solid performance. However, if you’re open to newer features like improved obstacle avoidance or longer battery life, consider checking out the Mavic Air 2 or the Mavic 3. Otherwise, the Mavic Pro remains a reliable option for aerial photography and videography.
