Is DJI Care still worth it with all these new tariffs and shipping issues?

With all these bans, tariffs, and stories of DJI shipments getting delayed or seized by customs, I’m starting to wonder if DJI Care is even worth it anymore. I just bought an Air 3S and have two days left to add the Care package. I’d really like the peace of mind… but what if I can’t even use it?

Will DJI refund the Care plan if we reach a point where they can’t send replacements? Anyone else thinking about this or have any info or predictions?

DJI has always done right by me. I wouldn’t stress too much—just get it.

That’s good to hear, thanks

Unless something has changed, DJI’s repair center is still in Texas. Shouldn’t be an issue.

There’s no bans or drones being seized. What’s happening is some resellers or third-party vendors mess up the paperwork and that’s why customs holds it. That’s not on DJI. As for tariffs, you already own the drone—you won’t be charged a new tariff on something you already paid for. I crashed my Mavic 3 Pro into a tree and was thankful I had Care Refresh. Got two years on both that and my Air 3S. Plus, DJI does annual free inspections as part of it where I live.

@Micah
Yeah, tariffs are only on new imports so it depends how it’s classified. It’s smart to check the details though.

Exactly. We do international business and any missing customs paperwork gets stuff held up fast. We usually use a customs broker for the first few shipments just to avoid that.

I used DJI Care on my Mini 4 Pro—got the replacement in 2 days. It even came with older firmware, so I think they shipped it from older US stock.

Talk to DJI directly if you’re unsure. They try to handle everything in the US first. If they have to go international, they route through Korea, Japan, or Australia to dodge tariffs. Last order I placed took five days total and didn’t hit customs. They also stopped using UPS in some places due to issues in Louisville holding or even trashing packages.

Even if you don’t use it, it’s easier to cancel and get your card refunded than to pay for a crash out of pocket. Every DJI Care replacement I’ve gotten came from a US address.

That’s really good to know

Crashed my Avata 2 hard two Thursdays ago. Sent it in same day under DJI Care. New drone arrived the next Wednesday. Total turnaround—6 days. Super happy with the service.
