Is the Black Falcon drone a scam?

My mom got me a drone for Christmas, and I think she fell for an SEO trap about ‘Black Falcon drones’. There are tons of websites with reviews and a few YouTube videos hyping it up.

From what I can tell, it seems overpriced at around $100. I tried it indoors, and it works. The video functions, and it has both forward and downward cameras. It came with extra batteries, but they seem to hold less charge than the main one. I haven’t tested it outdoors yet. This is my first FPV drone, so it might be fine to see if I want to explore drones further.

Does anyone have more reliable info about this? Also, my mom accidentally ordered two. Should we go through the hassle of returning one or just gift it to one of the grandkids?

The Black Falcon drone is definitely a scam. They’ve been running this for years, even using pictures of DJI Mavic Pro to promote it. In reality, it’s a cheap drone that you can find for about $16 elsewhere. I wouldn’t trust anything from those reviews or ads.

Why do companies get away with scamming people like this? Imagine a kid getting their first drone, only for it to break or fly away.

Can you clarify your point about the drone flying away? I’m curious about what you meant.

I bought one, and it’s absolute junk. The quality is terrible. At least the customer service was good, and they gave me a refund. Still, the drone itself is worthless.

My partner got fooled into buying two of these because the ads made them seem amazing. They even got the extended warranty. In the end, it’s just a $12 drone you’d find on other cheap sites. I tried dealing with customer service but only got part of the money back. Out of frustration, I crashed them into walls and trees. The motors failed quickly. Don’t waste your money.

There are definitely better options for the price. About returning or gifting it, that depends on your mom’s finances. If she’s okay financially, giving it to a grandkid could be fun for them for a little while. If not, try reaching out to customer service for a return label. They might surprise you by cooperating.

I bought two of these drones. When I took them outside, both flew up and to the left within five minutes, never to be seen again. They advertise 4K cameras, but it’s more like 0.4K. Definitely not worth $100.

@Bela
It supposedly has GPS and an auto-return feature for weak signal or low battery. Maybe it just didn’t like you and decided to leave.

The Black Falcon drone does not have GPS or auto-return. It’s a complete scam. Stop misleading people. I’ll be reporting you to consumer protection agencies for aiding scams online.

@Bela
Same here. Mine just flew straight up and disappeared.

@Bela
Funny thing is, the battery lasts only five minutes anyway.

@Bela
I spent 30 minutes looking for mine after its first flight. It lifted off, went up and to the left, and then vanished. No response to controls. Fun while it lasted for all seven seconds.

@Bela
Can you share the address of the seller? I’d like to file a complaint.

Why say it’s overpriced at $100 if you haven’t fully tested it yet? I’m guessing you just love forums and bashing stuff.

You’re spreading lies and helping scammers. Authorities need to investigate your activity.

I actually tested it. The drone is poorly built, and parts have already started falling off. How is it like working on these fake SEO campaigns? Do they pay well?

@Ren
That’s bold! I respect that you’re calling them out.
