Is the DJI Mini 4K good for a first-time buyer?

I’m looking at the DJI Mini 4K but can’t afford the Mini 4 Pro. I know this one doesn’t have obstacle sensors, but is it still a good option for a beginner?

Here’s a sample video taken with the DJI Mini 4K: https://youtu.be/op2LgGHGKMI?si=W1PH4YSl1KtAw12z. I think it’s really good for the price!

I managed to get the Fly More Combo Mini 4K for $259 around Black Friday. It’s my first drone, and I love it so far. I spent some time comparing other options, but it’s hard to beat DJI for price and performance. My son and I are learning to fly together, and it’s been a great experience.

Even at $335 for the Fly More Combo, it’s still a great deal compared to most other drones in its range. Last year, it went for about $350 EUR during Black Friday here in the Netherlands. Still worth it for the quality you get—there’s not much better in this price bracket.

This was my first drone, and I still enjoy flying it. The camera is decent, and it’s easy to learn. If you can, get the combo—it’s worth the extra cost for the included accessories.

It’s a very good drone for beginners.

The DJI Mini 4K is essentially the same as the Mini 2 (Classic). I bought my Mini 2 almost 4 years ago, and it’s still great. At $150 less than what I paid for mine back then, the Mini 4K is a steal.

If you have the budget for it, I’d suggest the Mini 4 Pro for its collision avoidance sensors. But if you don’t need those, the Mini 4K is a fantastic choice!

Funny timing—my partner just got me this as a gift, and I absolutely love it!

Consider buying second-hand. You might get a better deal.
