I’m looking for a drone to shoot 4K video for an upcoming trip. The Holy Stone HS720 has a ton of good reviews on Amazon. Would this be a good choice?
The company’s named ‘Holy Stone’ because their drones tend to drop from the sky like stones while you yell ‘holy shit.’
Real talk: I had a Holy Stone HS510 with great Amazon reviews, but it kept having issues, like randomly refusing to move forward or backward. Eventually, it stopped responding completely, flew 30 feet up, and fell to the ground, breaking. I’d avoid Holy Stone.
I own three HS720 drones, and I’ve had no issues with them. Just know the 720E doesn’t have a good gimbal, but the 720G does.
How can I improve camera quality? All my photos and videos are blurry, even though I’m not in sport mode. It’s supposed to be a 4K camera, but the media is terrible.
Get the HS720G if you want the best video and picture quality Holy Stone offers.
Just a heads-up: the best video quality from Holy Stone doesn’t mean it’s good quality. If you’re serious about 4K video, look into the DJI Mini 2. It’s a better drone with a much higher-quality camera.

The DJI Mini 2 shows 720p on your phone for the live feed, but the drone records in 4K to the SD card.

My HS720E had so many issues that I ended up buying a DJI just a year later. Don’t do it!

I almost bought a Holy Stone because of Amazon reviews, but I read a few posts here that changed my mind. I spent a bit more on a DJI Mini 2, and it’s been perfect. Great range, video quality, and easy setup.

I’d avoid Holy Stone at all costs. Mine barely responded to controls, and landings got rougher over time. The reviews feel inflated. Go for something more reliable.

Don’t waste your time on Holy Stone. Even the HS720G, which is decent, has poor range and isn’t worth the price. For the same money, get a DJI Mini 2 SE or a Fimi X8 Mini v2. Better range, speed, and video quality.
