Phantom 1? Nice. If it flies and works, go for it!

Are there bait droppers made for it?

Not really, you’d have to make one yourself. Also, depending on your location, you might need a permit to drop things from a drone.
@Dorian
Not sure if that applies in Australia. I’ll check.
If you can stretch your budget a bit, I’d go for a Phantom 3 or 4. Better range and overall a much better drone.
You can make a dropper yourself—I did for my Avata 2.

Do you have a guide or tutorial?
@Zya
Can I see some pictures?
It’s 2 AM here, and my family is asleep. I don’t have it mounted right now since I just finished a shoot.

No worries.

Did the link help?
Here’s another link with ways to make a dropper:
Check what sensors your drone has, especially when flying low over water. I have a Mini 3, and its downward sensors get confused over large bodies of water. A lot of people have lost drones this way.

Good to know. The beach here is really rough, and swimming isn’t allowed in most spots. I’ll check into that.
You don’t actually need a dropper.
You can plug a servo directly into the Naza flight controller—it has a spare channel. It’s originally for gimbal control, and you can adjust it in the Naza configurator on PC.
The only downside is that if you use a gimbal, both the servo and the camera movement will share the same channel.
If you go this route, you might need one of those cheap gimbal control thumb dials that attach to the back of the controller.
Phantom 2s actually have this feature from the factory.
