Is this a good deal for a DJI Mini 3 or should I pass?

This is in Canadian dollars and I manage to get him down to $350 (250usd) is this a good price? I know Facebook marketplace has scammers but I’ve bought from this guy in the past so I’m not worried about being scammed I just want to know what to look for, how to make sure I got a good running functional drone and that it’s not stolen or anything else I should consider.

This isn’t even a Mini 3. It’s either the Mini 2 SE or the Mini 4K. Definitely not worth it at that price.

Thanks for pointing that out. I won’t be buying it since the listing wasn’t truthful.

@Ren
It’s important to know the differences between these drones. The Mavic Mini (Mini 1), Mini 2, Mini 2 SE, and Mini 4K all look similar. Check the left arm for the model info.

The Mini 2 is the best choice for the price. It shoots in 4K, can be hacked, and works with third-party software. You can find it used for around $200–$250.

If you can afford it, go for the Mini 3 Pro. Not the plain Mini 3. The Pro has better features. Those usually sell for $400–$600.

@Ozzie
Thanks for explaining. What’s the benefit of hacking a drone or using third-party software?

Mostly for automating flights or custom missions.

Third-party apps like Litchi, Maven, and DroneLink let you do advanced things like programming flight paths or mapping areas automatically.

If you want to hack your drone, check out Drone-Hacks. It adds features not included by default. You’ll need a Windows computer for it.

Thanks for the info. I’ll research more. The seller updated the listing to say Mini 2, claiming it was an honest mistake. I might negotiate the price lower.

This drone isn’t worth more than $200 used, and the seller is misleading people by claiming it’s a newer model. You should report the listing so others don’t get scammed.

Good idea. I’ll report it. Thanks!

This isn’t a Mini 3. It’s either the Mini 4K or Mini 2 SE. Here’s what they cost new:

  • Mini 4K: $239–$359
  • Mini 2 SE: $279–$429
  • Mini 3: $329–$589

@Ren
Check one of the arms of the drone. It usually says the model there.

@Ren
The Mini 4K records in 4K, while the Mini 2 SE shoots in 2.7K.

Why not go for the regular Mini 3? It’s $329 right now on DJI’s site. I have it, and the battery life is better than the Mini 3 Pro or Mini 4 Pro!

Thanks for the suggestion. If I buy new, does it come with a warranty and accident coverage?

If you want DJI Care, the drone must be unlinked from the original owner’s account. Otherwise, you can’t activate it if it’s used or stolen.

You might want to consider buying a refurbished drone from DJI. It’s cheaper than new and still has support. Also, if the previous owner didn’t activate DJI Care, you can buy it. If they already have it, you can extend it as long as it’s still active. Just look it up if you’re unsure.

@Wray
Thanks a lot. That’s helpful!

There’s a Black Friday sale happening now.
