Is this a good drone to use for work?

Thinking about using this drone for professional stuff but I’m not sure if it’s good enough. Anyone here have experience using it for work? Curious what folks think.

It’s a terrible drone for professional cock fighting.

Did you show up and not see any chickens or something?

Chickens are terrified of drones, honestly might work pretty well.

Yeah but if the chickens don’t fight, I can’t pay my bills.

If you gotta ask, it’s probably fine for you. People on this forum never look up the drone specs anyway.

Also ‘professional use’ could mean anything. You talking about inspections, video work, racing, mapping? There’s no detail.

@Jael
Yeah it’s solid for photo and video stuff. But for surveying or mapping, you’ll want something like the M3E or a Matrice. Depending on what you’re doing, even an FPV drone might work better. I use an M2 Pro and an Avata for work.

Would not recommend for scuba diving, lol.

Totally agree.

Really just depends—does it actually fit your work needs?

Nope… that’s a myth.

It depends. If you’re just snapping pics of rooftops, sure. If you need really accurate GPS positioning down to centimeters, then no—you’ll want a drone with RTK for that.

You don’t need RTK for good accuracy. Just use solid GCPs. Plenty of pro teams fly Air 3s for public safety and mapping stuff.

@Cleo
Yeah but you’ll still need RTK or at least a decent GNSS device to get the GCP coordinates.

Honestly, a standalone GNSS unit is better than any of the stuff DJI sells.

And yeah, that’s not really about the drone itself.

Thanks

I used an Air 2S today for work so yeah, this one can definitely be used professionally too.

I’ve got the Mavic 3 Pro Cine and I sell images from it. But honestly, the Air 3S is really solid—its camera and lenses are good. You can’t go wrong with it. The Cine version has 1TB built in which is great, but the image quality isn’t that far off. Depends on your budget. I used to get great shots from the original Mavic Pro, which wasn’t nearly as good as these newer ones. I’m probably upgrading to the Mavic 4 when it drops—maybe next week.
