Is this deal any good?

. Is this a good deal for a drone?

They go for around £170 with the Fly More combo on eBay. Personally, I would spend a little more and get a newer DJI Mini since this is one of the older models. It’s still a decent drone, but the max range on this will be around 3-4km. With a newer Mini 3 or 4, you’ll get 7-9km of range, plus better battery life. Who knows how many times these batteries have been charged? They slowly lose charge in the Fly More charger to protect them, so people often just keep recharging them.

Edit: If you need to survey roofs, this would work fine.

@Harlem
Yeah, 3-4km… I have this exact drone. In the EU, the max range is only 300m. I tried to hack the drone and controller, but it didn’t work…

Legally, you can’t go much farther than 300m anyway.

@Laine
Yes, legally. But still, it’s frustrating. This drone is outdated. I’m fine with it flying 300m, but imagine spending money on a high-end drone and only being able to fly it 300m…

That’s true, but I’m trying to avoid the politics. A lot of people here ask where to get a battery or charger for a really low-quality drone. At least this one is still usable. Just trying to explain to the person who posted this that spending an extra 100 bucks or so gets you something that’ll last. I still have an original Parrot AR drone that barely takes off. People waste money on things that don’t hold up, which can turn them off the hobby. I’m just trying to help. Learning from others’ mistakes is important knowledge. Good luck with whatever you decide!

It’s a really good price because you don’t need a license and it comes with an extra battery. Definitely a good deal.

The range is pretty bad. I upgraded to a Mini 4 Pro in June. It’s a good deal if you’re reselling or rescuing lost drones you know the location of, but otherwise, it’s not great.

I flew it about 500 meters away and 150 meters high. After that, I lost the signal. I bought a similar one later, but it was locked, and support said it was blacklisted. It doesn’t hold up well in the wind, and there might be a signal transmission issue. The US (FCC) version had a slightly longer range.
