Just got the DJI Flip... should I get insurance?

I just bought the DJI Flip Fly More Combo with the RC2 remote from Amazon today. Do you think I should also get extra insurance for damage or failure? Amazon offers a 3-year plan for $86. I’m more of a casual flyer – probably just during the 4 summer months since I’m on the cold east coast. Also, anything important I should know about the Flip drone?

Ask yourself this – if it flew away or crashed and you had to pay full price again, would you be upset? If yes, then insurance makes sense.

Yeah, I lost mine on Tuesday. Stuff just happens sometimes. Be ready for it. I’d go with DJI insurance.

DJI Care Refresh is your best bet. The Amazon one isn’t really worth it.

Honestly, $86 for 3 years is a pretty sweet deal. But does it actually cover total loss if it’s smashed up? If you don’t want to spend full price again, it’s probably smart to get it. Even if you can afford another one, that’s still a good safety net for the price.

Definitely worth getting some kind of insurance. The Flip is solid but it’s not unbreakable.

Heads up – Amazon’s insurance doesn’t cover flyaways. Be careful with that.

I usually wouldn’t tell most people to bother with extra insurance, but if $86 doesn’t feel like much to you, go for it. Otherwise, DJI Care Refresh is the better option.

Go for DJI Care. It’s an amazing deal and they have top-notch customer service.

Don’t go with third-party. DJI Care Refresh is the one to get.

Definitely recommend DJI Care Refresh.

DJI Care Refresh is the way to go. Great service and you’ll likely end up using it at some point.

Make sure to read up on local drone rules and take the THRUST training.
