Looking for a drone for a preteen… any suggestions?

I’m searching for a simple drone that can take photos but doesn’t need to connect to a phone. Does something like that exist? Any advice would be great!

How much are you looking to spend?

Around $300 or so.

Try the DJI Neo. It’s great for kids.

The DJI Neo with a remote should cost about $300. It’s beginner-friendly and great for photos.

Look for an FPV drone kit on Amazon. They’re a lot of fun.

All the ones I’ve found seem to need a phone to work.

I want to get an FPV kit too! They look so cool.

If it’s just for taking photos or videos, the DJI Neo is a good choice. If they want to learn FPV, try the BetaFPV Cetus Pro.

@Jesse
I tried to look up this drone, but I couldn’t find anything. What’s it called?

What are you even saying? Lol.

Just a heads-up before you buy: drones are considered aircraft by the FAA. If it’s over 250 grams, it needs to be registered. Also, anyone flying a drone in the U.S. has to complete a free test called TRUST (The Recreational UAS Safety Test). It only takes about 15-30 minutes.

Try looking on Temu.

I just got one in the mail today!

I recommend looking for something lightweight if it’s for a beginner. They’re easier to handle and often don’t require registration.
