Hey folks, I’m thinking about picking up the DJI Osmo Action 5 and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a wearable gimbal I can use with it. I’d mostly be filming MTB rides, so I figured a gimbal could help keep things stable.
I haven’t seen anything official from DJI for this, and I’m also on a bit of a budget—under $100 would be perfect.
Any advice or gear suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!
Why do you even need a gimbal? The built-in stabilization on the Action 5 is already really solid.
DJI mostly makes gimbals for phones and bigger cameras. The Osmo Pocket is also a gimbal camera, but for the Action 5, I honestly don’t think you’ll need one.

I saw a video a while back that made it sound like a gimbal was a must for smooth footage. But yeah, that was for an older GoPro, so maybe things have improved since then.

Yeah, I’ve got the Action 3 and its stabilization is better than anything I’ve needed. The 5 should be even better.
Just grab the camera and a good chest or chin mount first—try it out. The built-in EIS is seriously impressive. Plus, if you wear a gimbal and crash, you’ll probably break it.
