Looking for an affordable fishing drone

Hey everyone! I’m new to drones and looking for something budget-friendly that can handle carrying and dropping around 6-8 oz of bait for ocean fishing. Just need something that’ll get the job done without costing too much. Any recommendations?

I’d recommend any DJI drone in your budget range with one of those light-operated hooks from Amazon. Here’s a link: Amazon.com. The product photos even mention fishing use!

No need to go super expensive! A Phantom 4 series with this attachment https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1425442-REG/pgytech_p_p4_103_air_dropping_system_for_phantom.html would work great. If you hunt for deals, you could probably get the whole setup for around $500.

Awesome, thanks! This really helps.

Honestly, you’re not going to find a cheap out-of-the-box solution for this kind of setup.

There actually are options under $600, though!

That’s a pretty specific use. Cheap options aren’t common. The closest budget option would probably be a used Mavic with a dropper attachment.

Pretty sure using drones to drop bait is illegal in some places. Check your local regulations!

From what I’ve found, it’s legal for bait dropping almost everywhere in the US. I even use a basic Amazon attachment to drop fishing line over tree branches for antenna setups.

Oh, got it. I think Hawaii has specific restrictions. Always better to check and be safe.

Yep, each state has different rules. Many have restrictions on hunting or fishing with drones, so it’s best to check your local laws.
