Looking for cheap easy UAV fr research purposes

I am conducting research focused on obtaining SAR imaging. We are not building a drone or constructing the radar; instead, we are looking for an affordable UAV that can be easily assembled with a simple API. Our goal is to minimize time spent on this part of the project. The drone should have a payload capacity of around 500g to accommodate the radar and other hardware, with space to attach the equipment below for data capture. The drone will only need to fly for 5-10 minutes over a distance of approximately 100 meters at a height of 15-30 meters.

Cost is a key consideration; while there is no strict budget, we aim to keep expenses low. Ideally, the drone should be priced around 200-400€. Your assistance in finding a suitable option would be greatly appreciated!

If you’re fairly adept with electronics, consider building a custom platform tailored to your needs. You’ll likely spend around half the cost of pre-made options that can handle a 5-pound payload or sensors. What kind of sensors and use-case do you have in mind? I’d also suggest going with a hexacopter and RTK GNSS guidance.

If you’re an electrical engineer, you should be able to assemble a kit in a day without any issues. After that, you’ll likely need another day for testing and adjusting the settings.

Finding something that can carry 5 pounds for indoor use will definitely be a challenge.

In my opinion, the Skydio 2(+) is the best drone for inspections, especially indoors, due to its advanced sensing capabilities that surpass other drones. However, the issue is that drones suited for indoor use at this price typically weigh only 2-3 pounds, so finding one that can carry 4-5 pounds will be challenging.
