Made my first video with my Mini 4 Pro this weekend!

Honestly stunned by the video quality of this little drone! I know my movements are a little rough and elementary, but hopefully I did alright!

Find a better spot and try shooting during sunrise or sunset.

That’s what I really wanted to do, but time constraints dictated otherwise. I think this would have come out so much better if it was shot at sunset at the edge of the Golden Hour!

@Sky
You know it. Drones mostly shine at that time. Daylight shots tend to be boring unless you have an interesting landscape or subject.

Look for master shots. If you Google it, you’ll find how to use them.

Master shots are a lifesaver. I use them sometimes.

Love the truck! You can play with the gain and expo settings to create damping on camera (gimbal) and drone movements (acceleration, deceleration, rotation, etc.), which can really help smooth things out. Those settings only apply to the mode you’re in, so you can have different settings in each mode: cinema, normal, and sport. I have my cinema mode gimbal and drone movements slowed down with damping and overtravel for smooth slowing. Makes everything slow but syrupy smooth!

There’s good YouTube videos out there. I don’t have specific links, but if you search ‘Mini 4 Pro gain and expo,’ it should pull up tutorials.

I leave my normal and sport modes alone for normal navigation and operation.

@Perry
Thanks! Good to know, I’ll check that out on YouTube!

Good cut sequence, brighten it up a little but looks awesome for your first video!

What a great start. Looks great. When editing, clean up your transitions to make them smoother. You can also incorporate a follow mode for a sideways shot or follow the truck from behind. As mentioned, find a better landscape. And if you use follow modes, make sure to have the space and fly the route a couple of times to avoid putting the drone in danger.

@Aeron
Thanks! Yeah, I was trying to do the follow shot or like where it circles a POI, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it on RC2 :confused:

I use them a lot. But now I’m learning to use my Mini 4 Pro for photogrammetry. I use WaypointMap, a free online tool to create waypoints and upload them into the M4P, and WebODM to process the photos into a 3D map. I’ve been learning lots. I use these tools to calculate the volume of gravel piles. I know there are lots of expensive programs that do this, but this is with a consumer drone. Can’t wait for the LiDAR to come out.

Looks good, man. Badass truck! And for your first video, your movements looked pretty dang smooth for controlling those shots yourself. You should feel good about the results. Keep at it.

Thank you! I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I feel like my movements could’ve been better! All in due time with practice!

Example of why most people don’t need a drone.

Why :pensive: are you hating? He’s got a good truck and flying his drone for the first time.

This isn’t hate. It’s a fact.

That’s a cute truck, what’s her owner’s name? Is she a cutie pie too? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::sparkling_heart::blue_car:
