Managed to fly my drone in London today, legally

What drone did you use?

Mini 3.

Nice!

Nice shot! Thank god I don’t live in London! The weather looks awful. The first time I landed in London, the clouds were so thick I had never seen anything like it.

Nice post! A lot of people here think that DJI uses illegal materials for marketing, but they get permits for every flight on every video. Some countries, like Vietnam, where many of their videos are filmed, have stricter drone laws than countries like the UK or US, and DJI always gets permits to fly in those areas. I think the comments of ‘this is illegal’ stop a lot of people from flying, but this is a great picture showing what can be done legally. Also, really nice pics! Why not share more?

In other stories, I flew 1.1km high today in a place with no airplanes or helicopters flying over.

Was it legal?

Probably not.

Was it unsafe?

Definitely not.

Flying in London is actually pretty easy and less restrictive compared to other major cities.

Probably the hardest city to fly a drone in the UK, but go on…

Not that I’ve tried it, but I saw someone fly a drone while on a stationary boat near the parliament. He flew it the whole battery time, even with the police nearby.

Not really. There are few restricted zones, and most landmarks aren’t in those zones, or they’re still easily reachable from outside those zones.
